communal reservationsThe communal reservations in educational and employment fields have hit hard the Brahmins. They do not get employment in their own country and are driven out to foreign countries to seek jobs. On account of this there is brain drain and the Brahmins have to loose their moral and spiritual values, forced to adopt Western style. The caste based reservation therefore should be removed and only economic backwardness should be the basis for the higher education and employment. The politicians say that the caste based reservation is social justice. But it is a social injustice. They also say that if reservation is made on economical basis people will get false certificates lowering their income. What happens now? A forward Pillai gets a false certificate as a backward Pillai. Kammavar Naidu as kavarai Naidu or Balija Naidu, a forward Mudaliyar as a backward Mudaliyar so as to make themselves eligible for reservation. Even after 60 years of our independence, the economic condition of poor people has not improved. Inspite of launching ten five year plans, even 1/10 of poor people have not been benefited. Therefore the only solution is to give concession and make reservation on economic basis upon which the poor people of all the communities and castes will benefit. Caste based reservation will not improve the standard of education and quality of Government services. S.
