தங்கள் பிராமின் டுடே பத்திரிகையின் மூலமாக, காஞ்சிப் பெரியவர்கள் ஏற்பாடு செய்த 6 நாட்கள் சனாதன தர்ம சஷ்டி முகாமில் கலந்துகொள்ளும் பாக்கியம் பெற்றேன். தங்களுக்குத்தான் என் முதல் நன்றி. அங்கிருந்த ஆறு நாட்களும் நாங்கள் கற்றுக்கொண்டது ஏராளம். 25 குடும்பங்களிலிருந்து சுமார் 48 பேர் 35 வயது முதல் 81 வயது வரையிலானவர்கள், பல்வேறு உபபிரிவினைச் சேர்ந்தவர்கள். திரு. ராம சர்மா அவர்கள் மற்றும் ரிஷிகேஷ் அவர்களின் முயற்சியால் நல்ல தேர்ந்த அறிஞர்களைக் கொண்டு பயிற்றுவிக்கப்பட்ட இப்படிப்பட்ட முகாம்கள் அடிக்கடி நடத்தினால் நமது சனாதன தர்மத்தைப் பற்றி எல்லோரும் நன்கு அறிய முடியும்.

எதிலுமே cause, reason உடன் effectம் முக்கியம் அல்லவா. இப்போதைய தலைமுறையினரின் "ஏன்", "எதற்காக" என்ற வினாக் களுக்குப் பதில் சொல்ல முடியாமல் விழிக்கும் என் போன்ற பெற்றோர்களுக்கு நமது வேதங்களின் உயர்வை அறிந்துகொள்ளவும் நமது சம்ஸ்காரங்களின் பெருமையையும் அதனால் ஏற்படும் soul effectsஐயும் புரியும்படிச் சொல்லி எங்களைத் தயார்படுத்தியிருக்கும் இந்த முகாம், எந்தவித விக்னமுமின்றி ஆச்சாரியர்களின் அருட்கொடையினால் இனிதே நேற்றுடன் முடிந்தது. கலந்துகொண்ட 48 பேருக்கும் இன்னமும் இந்த முகாம் இரண்டு நாட்கள் நீடிக்காதா என்ற ஏக்கத்துடன் உறவினர்களைப் பிரிந்து செல்ல வேண்டியிருக்கிறதே என்ற வருத்தமும் சேர்ந்துகொண்டது. முத்தாய்ப்பாகப் பெரியவர்கள் இருவரும் கலந்த கொண்டு அனை வருக்கும் தனித்தனியே அருளாசி வழங்கியதையும் குறிப்பாகப் பால பெரியவர், முகாமின் effects பற்றிக் கேட்டது, இப்பெரியோர்கள் நம் சமூகத்தின் மீது வைத்திருக்கும் அக்கறையைத் தெளிவாகக் காட்டியது.

1. ஆம். இந்தக் காலத்துப் பெண்கள் அதுவும் B.p.o, call centre fieldஇல் பணிபுரியும் 24 x 7 பாஸ்ட் புட், பிட்சா சாப்பிடும் பெண்கள் பெரிதும் மதிப்பது சுதந்திரம். 24 மணி நேரமும் மொபைல் போனில் பேசுவது ரொம்பவும் பிடித்த விஷயம். call center இல் பணிபுரியும் பெண்கள், யு.எஸ்.ஏ, யு.கே., கஸ்டமர்களுக்கு ஈஸியாக வாயில் நுழையும் பெயர் (மேரி, அனு, கவிதா, லிஸா) வைத்துக்கொள் கிறார்கள். வெளியில் ஆபிஸ் முடிந்து வீட்டில் வந்தால்தான் அவள் நிர்மலா, பவானி, கோமதி, அன்னபூரணி, தமிழ்மொழி, கலையரசி.

2. கல்யாணம் என்ற பாதையில் நடக்க நினைத்து எதையும் விட்டுக்கொடுத்து வாழ நினைக்கிறவர்களிடம் மாற்றுவழி கூறிப் பயனில்லை.

3. கூட்டுக் குடும்பம் குலைந்ததற்கு குமரிகள் மட்டும் காரணம் இல்லை. இதற்குப் பல காரணங்கள் உண்டு. Small family one child or two child norm முதல் காரணமாகும். அண்ணா, தங்கை, தம்பி, சித்தப்பா, சித்தி, பெரியப்பா, பெரியம்மா, அத்தை, அத்திம்பேர், மாமா, மாமி இப்போது எங்கே?

IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

The March 2008 issue has come out with the nice cover-photo of U VE SA. He is very rightly honoured by your magazine. He lived his life for the sake of Tamil literature, especially Classical Tamil Literature. There was a news long back that his house at Keezhachooriyamulai was going to be made as a Memorial. Not sure about the further developments.

But one thing is sure that a stamp and First Day Cover have been brought out by the Dept of Posts in 2006, with a nice and crisp write-up about him in the Brochure. I will be sending them by post to your address.

As a keen admirer of U VE SA, I thank you for highlighting him in a nice manner in your esteemed magazine.

Wish you all the best. May 'Brahmin Today' grow manyfold and serve its purposes in great manner in the days to come.

IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

I happened to visit the magazine through the internet and was amazed by the way the magazine contributed on vital issues like upanayanam. I totally agree with the author that we must be responsible parents and bring the discipline to our children. I live in Dubai and have found that the Muslims here have no regret in doing prayer 5 times or more a day whereas we hesitate to do sandhyavandanam 3 times a day!!! They too work in office and attend meetings. The commitment is missing in us. Let us agree that we have been giving excuses and begin teaching the next generation atleast to do the nithya karma at the right age. After all, a good harvest is only when the seeds are sown in the right season. Let our kids be proud to be born a brahmin and let them continue to carry our tradition. Better late than never!
